Reports continue to be received in relation to telephone scams where criminals ring older people and try to get them to reveal bank details or transfer money over the phone by pretending to be from their bank or the Police. Yesterday (12/5/15) a number of vulnerable people received phone calls from someone claiming to be a Lincolnshire Police officer telling them that a man had been arrested using their bank cards. The caller then asks the victim for their bank and card details. THIS IS A SCAM. NEITHER YOUR BANK NOR POLICE WILL EVER ASK YOU FOR BANK DETAILS OVER THE PHONE. PLEASE DON’T GIVE PERSONAL OR FINANCIAL DETAILS TO ANYONE IN THESE CIRCUMSTANCES. IF YOU THINK YOU MAY HAVE RECEIVED SUCH A CALL PLEASE REPORT IT TO POLICE
