The Head of Europol’s Cybercrime centre has advised that people should send personal data only across networks they trust. There has been an increase in the misuse of wi-fi in order to steal information, identity or passwords and money from users of public connections such as coffee shops and hotels. If you are going to communicate with a bank, shop via the web or log into social media sites this should be done via your home network in order to avoid such issues.
