The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is warning people of a ‘scam’ e-mail that suggests that the recipient has cancer. The e-mail has the header ‘important blood analysis result’ and tells the recipient that NICE has been sent a sample of their blood for further research. The e-mail gives instructions to download and print out ‘test results’ from an attachment which is likely to contain malware. If you receive one of these e-mails please delete it and don’t open the attachment. Please also report the circumstances to Action Fraud at or 0300 123 2040. This is one of a number of ‘scam’ e-mails in circulation. If you have any doubt whatsoever that an e-mail may not be genuine please make a note of the details then delete it.
