Lincolnshire Police have been working alongside a number of other agencies in the County to clamp down on Rogue Traders as part of National Operation Rogue Trader week (7th – 11th April). Together with Trading Standards, HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC), the Environment Agency and the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) they responded to reports of potential Rogue Traders and raised awareness of the problems caused by such people within the Lincolnshire community. Doorstep crime, which includes Rogue Traders, targets the elderly and most vulnerable members of our community. We all need to play our part in trying to prevent such crime taking place by being vigilant and keeping a close eye on our elderly relatives, friends and neighbours. PLEASE DON’T ALLOW AN UNEXPECTED CALLER TO CARRY OUT WORK ON YOUR HOME OR GARDEN. IF YOU NEED WORK DOING TRY TO FIND SOMEONE WHO IS RECOMMENDED AND REPUTABLE. NEVER GO TO A CASHPOINT MACHINE OR BANK WITH A PERSON WHO HAS ALLEGEDLY CARRIED OUT WORK FOR YOU. A GENUINE TRADER WOULD NEVER DO THIS – A CRIMINAL ROGUE TRADER WOULD.
