Today sees the start of Get Safe Online week which is supported by Action Fraud, the national fraud and cyber crime reporting centre. With the national figures for reported fraud and cyber crime being released for the first time, it’s clear that this is a very topical issue which often results in people being defrauded out of considerable sums of money. A recent survey found that despite being concerned about cyber crime, 65% felt that they could do more to stay safe online. Simple actions such as using ‘strong’ passwords and security software on your connected devices could prevent you from becoming the victim of a fraud.
