Lincolnshire Trading Standards is advising residents to be on their guard against people who may try to con them on the doorstep this summer. Uninvited visitors to your home who try to sell you a product or service could be criminals, according to the County Council service. In the last year 184 residents complained that they had been targeted, 67 of which admitted to handing over cash. The total loss to Lincolnshire residents was in excess of £90,000. THE BEST ADVICE IS NOT TO BUY FROM OR ALLOW COLD CALLERS TO CARRY OUT WORK FOR YOU. PLEASE USE RECOMMENDED TRADERS WHO ARE REPUTABLE. IF YOU’RE NOT SURE WHO IS AT THE DOOR – DON’T LET THEM IN.
