Police are reminding people about ‘courier bank fraud’ after a recent incident in the Skegness area. Yesterday a resident received a phone call from a man with an American accent claiming to be from either Glasgow or Edinburgh police. The caller informed the resident that his bank card had been used fraudulently and that a courier would be sent to collect the card. The resident became suspicious when the ‘courier’ arrived at his home and also asked for his PIN. Fortunately this fraud was prevented but it is a tactic used by criminals pretending to be from a bank or the police.
