Lincolnshire Police are warning users of  cashpoint (ATM) machines to be vigilant as there have been two incidents today (10/4/14) in the Lincoln area where the machines have been interfered with and money stolen. The offences took place at the Morrisons supermarket and the Tesco Express (High Street) when some kind of device or clip was fitted to the opening from where the cash is dispensed. The customer continues the process in order to try to withdraw cash but is unsuccessful. Once the customer has left the machine empty-handed the offender(s) return, remove the blockage and steal the money. Members of the public are asked to examine the cashpoint (particularly the cash dispensing slot) and if they have any concerns that the machine has been tampered with they should not use the machine but speak with store management. Anyone who thinks they may have been a victim of such a crime should contact Police on 101.  IF IN DOUBT – DON’T USE THE MACHINE
