Telephone Bank Scam

An 81 year old man from the Grantham area has been conned out of £10,000 by fraudsters. On Thursday 26th October he received a phone call from a man claiming to be a police Sergeant working for a fraud office. He was told that his local bank branch was being investigated and was instructed to attend the branch and withdraw £10,000 to help the investigation. He was advised not to mention anything to the bank when he withdrew the money.

The man returned home with the money which was subsequently collected by a person who attended his address. PLEASE MAKE SURE THAT YOUR FRIENDS, RELATIVES AND NEIGHBOURS ARE AWARE THAT NEITHER THE POLICE NOR YOUR BANK WILL EVER ASK YOU TO WITHDRAW MONEY FOR COLLECTION NOR WILL THEY ASK YOU FOR YOUR BANK CARD PIN OR FULL PASSWORD
