Police are advising residents in the Lincoln area to be vigilant following a bogus caller incident which happened on Monday 17th July in the Walnut Place area. At about 9.ooam a woman answered a knock at the window of her flat where she spoke with a man who claimed to be from Anglian Water. He was carrying a small step-ladder and stated that the woman owed him money for work he had to do. He then escorted the woman to a cashpoint machine, supporting her as they walked. After money was handed over the man made off. The man is described as a white man in his forties, slim build, wearing a bright yellow vest and a blue baseball cap. PLEASE ALWAYS CHECK FOR IDENTIFICATION AND IF YOU’RE NOT SURE DON’T OPEN THE DOOR AND CALL POLICE
